Our strenght is the women we empower and the wonderful products they make.
All Pebble products are made by Hathay Bunano. Hathay Bunano, meaning hand made or hand knitted in Bangla,
is a non-profit fair trade organisation in Bangladesh. Its mission is to create fairly paid, good quality,
flexible and local employment for rural women who are poor and often disadvantaged.
Shortly after arriving in Bangladesh, Samantha Morshed started Hathay Bunano ps, a non-profit organization.
Through a local NGO she invited 12 young women to her home in Dhaka and taught them to knit in her spare room.
After three weeks practicing knitting they started to work on the first order.
Hathay Bunano aims to provide employment which fits in with the rhythm of rural life,
stems the tide of economic migration to the cities and keeps families together.
Helping women out of poverty and putting smiles on faces worldwide!
What we do:
We provide employment. Hathay Bunano provides fairly paid, good quality, flexible and local employment
for rural women who are poor and often disadvantaged.
We create beautiful toys and accessories. Hathay Bunano, means hand made or hand knitted in Bangla.
The women create contemporary, beautiful soft toys all by hand.
We support families. When you purchase a Pebble product, you are helping poor women in Bangladesh support their families and keep them together.
